9/19/2012 - KANDAHAR AIRFIELD, Afghanistan -- 451st Air Expeditionary Wing members and coalition partners assigned to Kandahar Air Field gathered at the Liberty House here Sept. 18 in commemoration of the 65th anniversary of the Air Force becoming a separate service. The event, while momentarily delayed due to an indirect fire alarm where attendees took cover until the "all clear" notification was sounded, included a brief history of the Air Force given by Dr. Richard Clark, 451st AEW historian; the singing of the National Anthem and Air Force Song by Master Sgt. Herbert Ancog, 451st Expeditionary Communications Squadron; and a benediction from Ch. (Capt) Anthony Wade, 451st AEW chaplain.
